I was born in Prague, Czech Republic, sometime in the sixties or seventies. My family arrived in the Bay Area in 1985 following a dramatic escape from Eastern Europe. After a short stint in the service industry and NASA, I started making living as a commercial artist and enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley and later graduate school at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
After receiving my MFA I lived shortly in NY City and Venice, California before settling down in San Francisco. I took a brief break to think the art over, make a living, and produce a couple of adorable kids. Now I am fully back to my original calling of expressing Meaning with acrylic paint. My art might look abstract, but it is not. Something, somewhere, looks exactly like it.
